We will study finite groups of low order (generally those of order less than 64). The goal is to be able to contstruct all such groups, to be able to tell them apart, and to show there are no others.

The course is homework intensive, and students will present homework problems in class.

Please talk to me often, and talk to each other and anyone else who is interested. Talking is often the best way to learn.

There will be a midterm and a final.

30% of your grade will come from presentations and class participation. Another 30% will be from the midterm, and 40% from the final.
