Note the links at the bottom of this page to old exams. These are very useful, both to show what I think is important and to show how much I expect you to accomplish in an hour exam.

Homework problems will not be collected, but they, together with the problems on the old exams, cover the skills I expect you to master. You should be able to do all assigned problems, and should work on them immediately after the lecture to which they pertain. I'll be happy to go over homework problems at the beginning of most class sessions.

Please do ask lots of questions. Your questions are a very good indicator of what you understand. My goal here is to teach you, not to penalize you. The test for all of us is how you do on the exams. So please make use of the class and office hours to get my help. I am happy to give it. Remember, if you have a question, there will be at least 5 others in the class with the same question. I hope one of you will ask it, because that is how we learn.
